Designing for Function and Fun
From its inception, Shuffles was designed to harmonize form and function. The original space featured one level of comfortable booths, paired with long communal tables, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and interaction. The design maximized capacity while ensuring the café felt inviting, not overwhelming. Natural materials, clean lines, and modern fixtures were paired with vibrant pops of color to create an aesthetic that is both approachable and energizing—an ideal setting for an afternoon of strategy or a late-night laugh.
A Growing Space for a Growing Community
Several years after opening, Shuffles turned to Lilly Architects to realize its vision of expansion. The addition of a second level seamlessly extended the café’s seating capacity while preserving the signature Shuffles experience. By maintaining a balance between open communal areas and cozy, booth-lined nooks, the new design enriches both the social and functional aspects of the space. The vertical expansion reflects a commitment to cultivating community and accommodating Tulsa’s ever-growing appetite for unique, shared experiences.
